Jack Halberstam, tra i più noti e originali teorici queer in circolazione, propone una via più radicale e ci guida nell'affollato mondo dei perdenti: lì dove smarrire la strada, non sapere, dimenticare ed essere dimenticati, essere sconvenienti e indecorosi, indisciplinati e improduttivi (tutte cose che le persone queer hanno sempre fatto particolarmente bene) si rivelano strategie possibili per stare al mondo. Correndo il rischio – anzi inseguendolo – di non essere preso sul serio, Halberstam si muove tra teoria alta e bassa, si concede virate controintuitive e disgressioni, si addentra negli «archivi di cose stupide» ricercando forme di conoscenza lontane dal rigore delle discipline.
